Psychologist Peter Naish will literally leave his audience spellbound as he conducts a group hypnosis during this year's BA Festival of Science. Members of the audience will be chosen at random to participate in a live demonstration when they attend the Festival in the City event ‘Mindgames: the science of hypnosis’.
Peter is keen to encourage people to come along to the event and says that a group hypnosis will give everybody a chance to see what hypnosis is really like. The Open University lecturer will use the hypnosis demonstration to show how it can be successfully used as a tool for psychologists.
The demonstration will occur on two days during the Festival, at the Hotel Barcelona, Exeter, on 6 September and at Café les Jardins de Bagatelles, Plymouth, on 7 September, and will lead up to a session chaired by Dr Naish called ‘The Challenge of Hypnosis' where the latest research on the subject of hypnosis and its uses will be presented.
