Monitoring and Evaluating
Make sure you continually monitor and evaluate the progress of your club. It will help you with future planning and applying for funding. It may even help you with promotion as evidence of you extra-curricular input.
Some ideas include:
Conducting attitudinal surveys at the start and end of the year.
Keep a session log, with comments on what was good and bad about the session – this will help with future planning.
Track pupils that have been involved in the club comparing National Curriculum Test results predictions with the actual results.
Write a yearly report to feedback to school management on the club’s progress.
Past evaluations can be extremely useful when planning your programme.
