Primary Engineer
The Primary Engineer projects enables children to apply Science and Maths to the practical processes of Design and Technology. Three ‘Structures, Mechanisms and Basic Electrics’ projects can be used towards Star, SuperStar and MegaStar Awards. Teachers are offered CPD courses and subject network support as well as classroom and pupil resources as part of this national project. Children can also compete in the Primary Engineer regional and national finals.
All three projects involve the practical application of science, maths, ICT to design technology – pupils follow the design process, designing and making, consider a range of materials and the safe use of tools and the value of testing, making changes and recording findings.
