Footy fitness fanatics
During a 90 minute game of Premiership football, a midfielder runs about seven miles. So they need to be very fit. But footballers also need to be explosive and have quick acceleration. They need to be strong, too, but if they’re too bulky they might lose some of that speed. In short, there are numerous facets a footballer needs – and these may vary depending on the position they play. So how does the team chef know what kind of food to prepare, and how much exercise should the head coach prescribe?

Have you ever wondered how football teams train?

You might like to …

• develop a training regime for a football team
• develop a special diet for footballers to follow
• conduct some research and analyse it to decide what height, weight, etc. makes the best footballer (or other sportsperson).
