Dissolving teeth
The hardest tissue found in the human body is enamel – the stuff that covers our teeth. But despite its hardness, enamel can still be quite easily dissolved by a fizzy drink. We may think our teeth are something special, but leave them in a glass of coke for the night and you’ll be surprised to see how quickly they rot.
Have you ever wondered which types of drinks rot teeth the most?
You might like to …
Take some teeth samples (bones provide a decent alternative) and devise an experiment to see how different concentrations of cola rot them
Do a similar test, but use different types of drinks – perhaps you could compare drinks with added sugar, and ones that claim to have none.
