Home-made cosmetics
Bath products
Some people choose to spend a lot of money on cosmetics. And a fair proportion of that probably goes on fancy packaging. One way of avoiding this is to make your own cosmetics, using the same natural and manufactured raw materials as commercial cosmetic companies.

Have you ever wondered how easy it would be to make your own cosmetics?

You might like to …

  • Research the active ingredients in a variety of cosmetic products. You could work out which cosmetics you think could be home-made
  • Make your own cosmetic products. For example, it’s possible to make safe and usable bath bombs or hand cream – you can often find ‘recipes’ by doing an internet search. It’s also possible to make soaps and detergents but these AREN’T safe to use!
  • Amend the various quantities of ingredients in your home-made cosmetics. Record the effects of changing the recipes. Turn one of the recipes into a standard procedure.
