Colour
Trinny and Susannah – from BBC’s "What not to Wear" – have become famous for their candid, often scathing, views on people’s fashion sense. Their advice on colours is no less blunt. For example, “Neon and fluorescent colours should only be worn by people with olive skin”, “black shoes shouldn’t be worn with brightly-coloured clothes as they cheapen the colours” and, “only wear bright colours on areas you’re sure can stand up to the limelight”.
Have you ever wondered if certain textiles are stained by dyes easier than others?
You might like to …
Test a range of dyes (natural and synthetic) to see if they attach themselves better to certain types of textiles. If they do, explain why
Try making your own synthetic dye, or extract natural dyes from plants
Test dyes to see if they withstand washing, or exposure to bright light.
