Stricter rules are soon to be imposed on body piercing outlets in Britain. The government made moves to improve hygiene and cleanliness levels when, in December 2002, a 17-year-old boy died of septicaemia after having his lip pierced. The Bill, if passed, will give local authorities the power to inspect and regulate outlets offering piercing or tattooing.
