John Holman is currently Director of the National Science Learning Centre in York.
He is one of the UK’s most widely respected science educators, with a major hand in many of the most influential curriculum development schemes of the past 25 years. These include initiatives such as Science and Technology in Society, the Salters’ curricula developed at the University of York and the new 21st Century Science GCSEs, all of which seek to develop an understanding of science in its wider context: very much an aim of the BA. He was President of the Education Section of the BA in 2005.
