Dr Blay Whitby - Biography
Dr Whitby is a lecturer in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sussex. His main research interests lie in the area of the social and ethical implications of new technologies. He is keen to encourage those involved with AI and computing to adopt a professional and responsible attitude towards their work. This includes the use of AI in safety critical areas, and human factors in decision support systems. Dr Whitby is also interested in developing applications for new technologies including multimedia, the Internet, and virtual reality which are socially beneficial.
