A toolkit for dialogue
What is the difference between information dissemination, consultation and dialogue?  What methods and techniques should we use to discuss issues involving science and technology with the public?  Should discussions feed somewhere or is it good enough just to talk?

This Working Lunch explored what we mean by achieving ‘effective dialogue’.  It showcased recent approaches to informing policy through dialogue by exploring methods such as citizens' juries, focus groups and deliberative polls and by examining the potential impact on the science communication community.

The workshop was led by Mark Dyball, People, Science & Policy, with contributions from Mike Dennis, The Oxford Trust.

The Working Lunch took place on Wednesday 14 June 2006 at Science Oxford, 1-5 London Place, Oxford OX4 1BD map (pdf 292KB)
