A toolkit for dialogue
What is the difference between information dissemination, consultation and dialogue? What methods and techniques should we use to discuss issues involving science and technology with the public? Should discussions feed somewhere or is it good enough just to talk? What types of questions should we ask before embarking on dialogue activities?
This Working Lunch explored what we mean by achieving 'effective dialogue'. It showcased recent approaches to informing policy through dialogue by exploring methods such as citizens' juries, focus groups and deliberative polls and by examining the potential impact on the science communication community.
The workshop included contributions from Andrew Acland, Dialogue by Design, Dr Anita Shaw, Development Director, Techniquest and Natasha Lade, Planning Aid Wales.
The Working Lunch took place on
Tuesday 27 June 2006
at The Youth Eisteddfod Centre (The Urdd), Bute Place, Cardiff, CF10 5AL
