Below are websites and external resources that event organisers may find useful when planning events. These are listed to help provide ideas and inspiration for your events, for audience participation and general information.

* The British Council has produced a website called Talking Science, which provides up-to-date information and links to the latest ideas in science communication in the UK.

* Intute is a free online service providing web resources for education and research.

* At-Bristol provides some useful resources and ideas for contemporary debates. Their PDF of resources is particularly useful.

* Sciencelive have produced a useful list of organisations involved in the Science communication and events area.

* The British Council have a list of organisations that are involved in the organisation of Science and technology in the UK.

* think differently have resources and courses for researchers and others to help in engagement of STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) with young people and the public.

Young People's activities

Resources for those running Young People's activities or for targeting young people in the audience:

* Teachernet provides a list of websites that may be helpful when planning science activities for young people.

* Planet Science provides ideas, inspiration and resources for Young People's activities.

Resources and projects that promote engagement with hard to reach groups:

* DISC project which was coordinated by the BA Science and Society team.

* community x-change is a series of workshops bringing together community groups. This year the community x-change is taking place in Liverpool.

* Policy, Ethics and Life Sciences Research Centre (PEALS) coordinate projects to encouarge debate of the social and life sciences.
