This picture shows two unusual sources of light:

1. Bottom left: part of a laser beam. (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation)

2.  The main body of the brightness (White fireworks) surrounded by a fringe of colour.  On the bottom right - a fountain of shimmering gold, very decorative firework.

I took this photograph with my digital camera at the King's College School fireworks display on fireworks night.
