drugsfutures
Throughout history, people have used drugs to make them feel better. Now we understand how the brain works better than ever before. We are beginning to understand how chemicals affect the brain and how our genes influence its function. Could we be entering a new era of drug use?

drugsfutures is a government-funded initiative, organised by the Academy of Medical Sciences, to shape policy through consultation on drugs issues.  At the drugsfutures website, you can find out what came from the questions, debates and views shared by those who took part.

You will also find some information outlining the issues and illustrating how new drug technologies might affect our future society.

In January the drugsfutures launch took place at the Dana Centre. The audience explored the possibilities of future drug culture through forum theatre, discussed their opinions with specialists, and got more information about the drugsfutures project.

In March 2007, the BA ran three drugsfutures workshops with community groups, including those who had previously taken part in the community x-change and the DISC project.
