As chairman of English Heritage, Sir Neil Cossons is at the forefront of conservation in Britain; a subject that he consistently champions. He has published and broadcast widely on industrial archaeology, museums and conservation. He is Chairman of the University of Liverpool’s Leadership Team. In 1982 Sir Neil Cossons received his OBE and was knighted 12 years later.
In 1986 Sir Neil became Director of the Science Museum, where he remained for over 14 years until taking up his current position at English Heritage.
