Professor Nancy Lane
Nancy Lane is a neurobiologist at the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge where she is a senior research associate and an Official Fellow of Girton College, where she is also a lecturer in cell biology. She has held visiting professorships at a variety of universities in Europe and South America and is also a Non-Executive Director for Smith and Nephew plc. 

Nancy has lectured widely on issues related to the problems confronting women scientists, she is a member of UNESCO’s Scientific Committee for Women in Science and Technology and chaired the Cabinet Office Working Party on Women in Science, Engineering and Technology which resulted in the landmark report The Rising Tide in 1994 when she was also awarded an OBE. Nancy Lane has chaired the Science and Public Affairs magazine Advisory Panel.
