Daniel Jackson - Biography
Daniel Jackson is an artist working with computer programming and is the director of a small internet company called 'Avco'.

Avco is developing online music mixing and composing software called 'Tonetag' which enables users to create their own music or mix a musician's music in a web browser and send it to their mobile phone as a midi format ringtone.  A bespoke implementation is being developed for the BBC, and will be launched imminently.  Avco has worked for BBC online since 1998.

Avco also works with other artists on the production of their digital screen-based artwork - current clients are Julian Opie and Michael Craig-Martin.

Avco's current artistic practice employs many of the processes used in the commercial work, particularly with regard to musical structure and computer programming.

Daniel was previously employed as Executive Producer at Virtual Reality and 3D Computer games company 'Virtual Studios', 1994-1997.  He trained as a painter at Slade School of Art and holds an MA in Computing from Middlesex University.

Daniel spoke at the x-change in April 2005 at the Dana Centre.
