SEPA are the flood warning authority in Scotland. In providing flood warning to a range of customers SEPA make use of a number of sources of hydrological and meteorological data. This data is combined with our knowledge of areas at risk and is used to anticipate conditions which may lead to flooding. Warnings are then issued to Local Authorities and relevant emergency services and onto Floodline (0845 988 1188) and the SEPA flooding pages.

The talk will focus on the process of putting this information together into a meaningful warning message that can be understood and acted upon by end users.
