Biography Ewen McCallum
Ewen McCallum has worked at the Met Office for 30 years and, apart from a spell as an instructor in its College, he has spent most of his career close to weather forecasting.  He  worked as a Chief Forecaster in the Met Office Operations Centre before becoming Head of Forecasting.  Ewen is now the Met Office's Chief Meteorologist, working closely with private and public sector customers to help them understand the effect of weather and climate on their business.

Ewen has a keen interest in the communication of weather information and, in particular, the use of probabilities to convey risk during severe weather events.
