Participants in the event at the Dana Centre

A number of partnerships were formed following the DISC residentials, where individuals from science communication groups linked up with individuals from black and minority ethnic groups.

The BA had already formed a partnership with the Newham African Caribbean Carers Forum (NACCF), and in November 2005 the two groups came together for an event at the Dana Centre in London.

A presentation and discussion with a clinician followed by a tour of the Science Museum was enjoyed by members of the NACCF.

The NACCF have also been involved in the drugsfutures project, a government consultation about people's desires and fears for future drugs policy in the UK.
